Great list! Some really cool channels I wasn't aware of. It's easy to subscribe to a few channels and stop looking for new ones.

For the record, I am Solid State Workshop, if you care to update the list.

Today Mr. Carlson's Lab stated VintageTEK Museum needs attention.. OK, with 47 video's so far, this one looks good!

**edit  Observation: On group effort, this went from 333 subs to ~4000 in just one day! Subscriber count's now 4218. Indeed Paul Carlson deserves Kudo's and even W2AEW has visited twice (he lives on other side of the U.S.). Thank you everyone!

Artifact Electronics: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCK5y1jaqmysO9WPszfr3BMQ/featured

Doesn't have many subs, but the content is great. 10 videos. I don't know if the owner is on the forum or not.

Anyone see changes on YouTube lately? Small changes like not offering to toggle between list mode and grid mode on user videos. The UI still offers it, but now we'd have to append ?flow=grid at the end (no space) to offer viewers more per screen than default. I like grid view (it means much less scrolling down, down.) but it adds 10 characters to each entry.

Any opinions?

Roger, Brumby have you given thought to the value of  appending ?flow=grid at the end of URL's?

Roger, Brumby have you given thought to the value of  appending ?flow=grid at the end of URL's?

Firstly, as you said, that will add 10 characters for every occurrence - which is 2,000 characters for 200 lines.  I don't know how much of an impact that will have.  Secondly, my spreadsheet does not add to the data entered, it just wraps formatting code around it.  Since this is essentially a change to the URL, it would be better done by ez24 on an ongoing basis.  I could do a bulk change as a one-off, but that involves some file shuffling between ez24 and me.

However, there seems to be a question as to what this extra coding does.  Even with that answered, the next question is whether it is functionally superior - or just a matter of personal preference.  If it is just personal preference then, unless there is a significant majority that feel about it strongly, I would lean towards keeping the character count down.

What do others think?

It seems the issue is that Youtube presents a channel's videos in a list format or a grid format.

The list format gives a single video per line, but with extra information to the right.  The grid format puts up to six thumbnails per line (depending on your zoom level).

The grid format allows many more videos to be visible in one screen's worth of the page real estate.

From my tests, it seems Youtube remembers the format I used last.  Can others please check and confirm, please?

If this is the case, then I would say no change should be done to the URLs.  Each member would get the videos presented in the format they they individually prefer.

I have mine set to grid and it stayed there after the UI update. No need for extra query parameters to maintain the selected view. Perhaps the anomaly was due to a bad cookie or overly aggressive browser cache.

That is good news.  If we can avoid extra characters it gives us more headroom.

I must thank you, Cliff.  Offering the suggestion shows your active interest in supporting this list and that is one of the most important elements for its survival.  Apathy is a killer.

Also thanks to ez24 for his ongoing efforts.  It is a commitment - and a voluntary one at that - of which we all benefit.

Ditto here, many thanks to EZ24 for his commitment. Also, yes I can confirm YT is saving user prefs (seems the UI changes occurred by coincidence around the same time I used CCleaner to clear out junk on the laptop). -C

Nice, subscribed! I counted 86 video's. Does everyone dan-unda say "Woo Woo Woo" instead of "Dub Dub Dub" ??  :)

64 subs so far (sure to increase with a little fine EZ24 magic..)

Hi,

I learned a lot from watching youtbube channels on Electronics.

I was not paying much attention on "Other Blog Specific" board but now I have much more to watch :)

Since fanOfeeDIY posted a good spreadsheet

https://www.eevblog.com/forum/testgear/digital-oscilloscope-comparison-chart/msg678378/#msg678378

and it became a "sticky", I asked him if he would take over this list if someday I am unable.  I want to say this list is easier than fanOfeeDIY list.

I am 69 and he is 48, so the ages work out.  He accepted the offer.  I will post new updates of the list so he and Brumby can always have the latest version.  If I am unable to keep this up, fanOfeeDIY will post the new list under a new topic he starts.  Mine will be un-sticky and locked.  Seems this will work.  Thanks Brumby for the suggestions.

thanks

OP AMP Videos

A list of them is at

https://www.eevblog.com/forum/beginners/op-amp-youtube-videos-my-list-of-the-best-28-on-the-basics/

I will pick 5 to 10 of them and include them in this list

Funny thing:  I blew out my TV watching them on a USB drive.  Every action takes about 60 seconds before it happens, like changing channels or vol control.  My TV is in slo-mo.  It is 2 months old and is a 43 inch Hisense.  Tech help is not available because of the hurricane.

Edit:  I unplugged it for 2 hours, now ok.  Turning off overnight did not help.  Sure needs a firmware fix (NA).
