Together with two friends/colleagues in the field I am currently writing an technical/informational book.
I can't completely tell what it is all about (although some people might already guessed it), but basically it's about an informational engineering guide to bust out many myths in certain areas of engineering.

The idea is to maybe also start an ongoing patreon "blog" about certain subjects.
Not only is that a good way of earning some money in the meantime, but also "free" advertisement and a more modern way of distributing.
There are also certain things that aren't really worth telling in a book, but are fine for some kind of blog style thing.
Maybe even a Youtube channel, although I am not much of a mouth flapper myself.
(for the record, I am NOT doing it for the money, but purely to bust out all these widespread misconceptions)

The only issue is that I am certain we WILL get tons of hate response.
That risk is also real with a book, but in general the type of audience will respect the writer a lot more.
Also the threshold of reading a dedicated book is much higher than just reading some blog/watching YT videos.
Another reason is that there is even a lot of misconception among professionals (and most of them are just simply afraid of their reputation or products)

So my question is how to cope with this?
Is it just a matter of ignoring all the hate, or maybe just giving proper references at each episode?
I have no idea how to tackle this, so any kind of ideas are welcome.

Does anyone make monkey from a Patreon text blog?

Paying people aren't going to hate on you.

Sorry I struggle to follow your intentions here?
These were just side notes about pattreon (maybe it was even better that I left those things out completely).

It's a psychological thing, if people are interested in something and pay money for it is always perceived as something great.
Just like 10.000 euro speaker-cables.

I like your initiative, should me a pm if you need another hand/mind.

I answered your question and posited a question, there is no "intention".

When people pay for something like content they are less likely to "hate" on that person and hence leave hate comments.
Hate comments on Patreon are rare as hens teeth.

What I was trying to say is that I just simply didn't catch what you were trying to explain.  ;)

All right, I have read some different stories, but I assume you're right.
this is not the case with Youtube though?

No, because Youtube is a public forum, Patreon is not, it is a private paid forum.
Those who would pay to read your Patreon posts are fans of yours, they pay to listen to what you have to say because they generally like what you say. These people will generally not write hate messages.
Those on Youtube are just anyone, and many will not be fans of you or your work.
It's bad enough on Youtube for those who make un-controversial content, but if you make controversial content you will get a lot of hate comments, it's inevitable.

Any advice for doing something like this on Youtube?
Or just not even thinking about it?

Another way is to only explain certain more general subjects on Youtube.
Leave the more controversial stuff out.
(it's weird to call it controversial, since it's actually based on facts, references and well done research)

If you want to do it and enjoy doing it, just do it. Deal with any consequences later. As the channel owner you are in full control over comments. You can delete them and block people if needed.

Just say what you want to say. Those people are the most popular on Youtube for a reason.

Ok, thanks for the advice so far.
It actually does make me more confident.
Although I am not someone who likes to be in front of camera that much, but I might know a few people who are.
It ctually does give me more

You don't have to be on camera. Countless big successful Youtubers never appear on camera, just a do voice-over.
