Mine are cheap chinese knock offs (not nice SKF units). They have the same lube holes on the nuts.
These are nice SFK. Place a drop of oil in it and plug it for now.

I have these miniature ballscrews in a machine. At least on these, the oiling hole is on the flange (see drawing)

Oh mine aren't SKF brand ballscrews, they are "SFK" series from a company in Asian (Taiwan)  lol

WD-40 is like three-in-one oil of my grandfather's days to ruin your equipment. 3 in 1 is good for rifles I hear, but not for capstan bearings and the like.

Use it for water displacement, not lube. It turns to epoxy after a few months. Another application frees up the glue for a short time.

Prevent people from using it as a lube!

depends on the lead screw, I have a T-Tech 5000 PCB mill machine and it has a Teflon coated screw that is not lubed, it's about 20 years old now and i've replaced the lead screw twice in that time, the machine is used every day and is exposed to FR4 dust constantly. Even when the Teflon wears down it's still usable but screams like a banshee.

Yeah I'd forgotten that it does tend to gum up when it dries out. It does make a good cutting lube for machining or tapping aluminium. I've read that it's mainly kerosine, it must be the additives that gum up.

Wired magazine some time ago had a page called 'what's in it?' or the like. WD-40 was mostly baby oil with a bunch of additives. How much oil can you get from a baby? Is it collected as runoff or is the baby squished like seed oils?

Cord oil? Surely they don't use whole babies.
