I have usually used Hot glue gun + glue stick to bound electronic parts. But i guess it has a limited temperature range and I am not sure about the long term performance of such technique . I have seen the adhesive ripped off with a feather touch, once exposed to sunlight for a long time (4hrs).

I would like to know the s bounding techniques/ potting techniques and items available in market especially for industrial environment and military environment.

That's silicone alright, it works well but hot glue is much more convenient.

To protect thing from the environment I normally use wood lacquer. It hardens in to a nice waterproof coat in about a day.
