assembly issue on metal core
« on: June 30, 2016, 02:36:46 am »
we have little assembly issue due to the metal core and solder melting issue.
You have any idea what is the best way to assemble metal core boards?

You will in most cases have to use a special temperature profile when reflow soldering them since the metal inside them takes a long time to heat up.

As for hand soldering its best to get a board preheater. Its a device that you set your board on top that then uses heaters or hot air to heat the board from the bottom side. Keeping the whole board at like 100°C helps hand soldering a lot since the core wont take away heat as quickly.
