Best BLE Module for Arduino?
« on: September 17, 2017, 07:51:47 am »
Hi everyone,

I just wanted to find out what your recommendations are for choosing one of the many Bluetooth Low Energy modules out there. I'm particularly interested in Arduino compatibility and good documentation.

Thanks!

Thanks for that! Is the PSoC compatible with the Arduino IDE or is it a standalone thing?

I bought an ESP32 development board because I had the same need.
It can be used also inside the Arduino IDE, whatch this:

Unfortunately the approch in the video is not the best but the BLE capability of the ESP32 looks promising.

I have used the Nordic NRF8001 on a project with a Silabs C8051F931.  I started with the Nordic code written for the Arduino and ported it to the Silabs MCU.  Later on, I used the 8001 with an Arduino Uno and also starting with the Nordic code.  No edits were required!!  Came right up with no issues.
