Can anyone help identify this Chinese IC manufacturer ?

Can't identify this IC it might be UC2843 or similar.

Did you mean UC3842?
It's almost sure that the logo is not the original top marking, it's a mark made by PCBA house to give customer an illusion that they can develop ICs.

So they can remove the previous markings, leave a perfectly smooth surface, and mark with Chinese characters?

Yes, just like those who sands off top markings, this one just made one more step.

I'd like to send my C64 ICs over there and have them marked with various amusing obscenities. Feasible?

Thanks marshallh, that was about as far as I managed.  :palm: It hadn't occured to me that they would re mark the part, that was kind of them  :-DD hey at least I learnt three Chinese charaters and that can't be bad.
