clock design that uses 1pps?
« on: January 23, 2015, 11:20:13 pm »
I have a GPSDO with a 1pps output that i'm not using.

I was thinking it would be nice to have my own "accurate" clock in the house that made use of this.

My googlefu must be weak, all I found there were clock designs that were incorporated into a GPS receiver.

I didn't find a Clock design that existed and would make use of a 1pps input.  Now I imagine I could find one of those with a clock design that I liked, and extract the pertinent parts for my own one-off.   I would much rather find plans or a kit as I've got plenty of other things to do.

anyone know of a clock / design or ideas?   I did see some NNTP servers, but those were pretty pricey; and I'm basically only looking for the clock display, not that my own nntp server wouldn't be nice..just overkill.
My job is so secret, even I don't know what I'm doing!

Yes, and the serial output of the GPS module outputs all the time data for you and if it is valid. Just hook up a microcontroller + display to show the time data. Google for "NMEA data"
