Microchip Current Sensing Fundementals App Note
« on: October 05, 2010, 01:57:58 pm »
Microchip AN1332

I found this app note to be an easy good overview of current sensing.  Just thought I would throw it out there for anyone else who might like it.

I had to brush up on my common mode voltages before I was able to absorb a whole lot.

(Skip to practical examples of common mode voltages if you don't like mathematical gymnastics)

Thanks for the post though, this is convenient because I am having to design a some what unique battery charger right now.

No problem, glad you liked it. Are you going to share the battery charger specifics eventually?

I think so - once I know for sure what needs to be done with the project.

I'm surprised they didn't include the opamp and transistor balance current mirror...
Cryptocurrency has taught me to love math and at the same time be baffled by it.

Cryptocurrency lesson 0: Altcoins and Bitcoin are not the same thing.

Feel free to submit a reference design or app note for it. Seems like the right place...

I wish they had more info about low side current sense design. Linear has a much more thorough app note about current sense me thinks.

Don't blame me. I'm the mechanical engineer.
