External Monitor for digital oscilloscope
« on: November 14, 2014, 06:23:29 pm »
Gidday Aye:

Trying to make out four channels on a 7" LCD is tedious and not much better on a bigger 10".
Some Tektronic models have provision for using an external monitor.  I am wondering if anyone has attempted a hardware modification to add a video card + resolution increase to any other midrange type of scope like atten, rigol, siglent...whatever.  If so, give us a map of the traps.

Thanks
All the best

Maybe the easiest way to solve that is to point a camera at the screen and display it on a bigger monitor.

I believe some low end scopes come with a vga output, owon at least do have them other than that it's going to take some serious hacking

maybe a good optical quality fresnel lens? but it might distort the image a lot not sure
