Is CP2102 driver installation mandatory in windows10 desktops

Hello , I am using CP2102 Serial driver IC in my project. When using CP2102 with my laptop (window 10) , COM port detected automatically. But the same CP2102, when I am using with Desktop(windows 10), COM port didn't detected. I had to install drivers manually and it worked. What might be the reason for this behaviour?
