Magnifier lamp mod to keep it folded

Just a quick hack I'm pretty fond of. I want to fold my magnifier lamp when its not in use to keep it from using too much space. The problem is the lamp keeps falling down and I got a sore throat from cursing when that happened. I thought of all kinds of latching contraptions but last week I got a better idea: use a magnet to hold the lamp. So I disassambled a random hard drive from my pile of hard drives to scavenge a magnet (the one used to position the heads) and stuck it onto the lamp housing using double sided tape (the strong stuff).
