modding a 1080p webcam for animation & close-up work

if anybody is interested in re-using old or cheap webcams
please feel free to add comments or your images of your DIY microscope or telescope mod's
i did find many 1080p webcams do not have a focus ring on the lens.
but many older 400p webcams do. this mod is about getting a focus at 10cm for electronics images or animation.
the Chinese plug n play USB webcam uses a PC as a DVR or take still images.
I don't expect anybody to use expensive webcams or camcorders for lens mods like this .
I used a cheap chinese 1080p webcam for this project. 
even a DIY lens adapter for a  smartphone can be interesting project, if posted here.
