LM2937 replacment
« on: October 07, 2013, 01:29:26 pm »
Hi Chaps...
Made a boo boo on a prototype PCB. I designed it with the SOT-223 package with the layout:

    TOP TAB

GND  IN  OUT

When in fact according to datasheet (http://www.ti.com/lit/ds/symlink/lm2937.pdf) it should of been:

   TOP TAB

IN  GND  OUT

Is there any 500mA 5v LDO regs (12v input approx) that will fit my layout (I think it is a protues balls up as it was a library part!) or is it a new PCB? Any help mucho appreciated!!!!

Cheers
Matt

Just hard wire to get the correct pinout, it is just juxtaposition of two pins, so hand-solder it in with #32 silver-plated wire-wrap wire. Even the Chinese would do this on a 10000 piece production run until the PCB's were exhausted.
