"Multipurpose" relay card with current measurement
« on: January 10, 2019, 07:23:28 pm »
Hello

I'd like to make a relay card for my boat that is multipurpose, controlling multiple 24V loads. With multipurpose I mean that it can be used to control navigation lights and other higher current equipment.

I'd like to have multiple channels on the relay card where each channel has a current measurement. Not high precision, but just an indication of current draw.
Current draw for navigation lights isnt interessting, but I'd like to use it to decide wether theres a break or not in the circuit.

So what I'm wondering is how I could manage the wide range of currents where the navigation lights are as low as approx. 100mA and other equipment ~16A?
