Nichicon capacitor reforming (JIS C 5101-4 clause 4.1 at 20°C)
« on: November 30, 2016, 10:56:01 am »
Hi,
I'm new here

Nichicon electrolitic capacitor datasheets refer to "voltage treatment based on JIS C 5101-4 clause 4.1 at 20°C

I googled for more details but was not able to find any useful information

Does anybody know what do they mean?

thanks

Looks like they sell it. http://standards.globalspec.com/std/1297553/jsa-jis-c-5101-4
Some brief info here: http://www.qsl.net/g3oou/reform.html

thanks

I thought it was just something like: "set the supply voltage to x%V of the nominal one with a series resistor of y ohm until the current gets lower than z A or for w hours"  :)

ok... I'll try to figure that by myself... I'm just an hobbyist...

I had completely forgot about this thread of mine.
At first I thought somebody else had stolen my ID  :D.

In any case thanks. I'll have a look at that pdf.
