Another option would be to put springs under the heads of the adjustment knobs.

That way you can have constant spring pressure without the risk of overtightening.

This is what I use. I designed for my P&P machine but use it for general PCB holding tasks on the bench. It works with whatever odd shape PCB you have.

I made a small tweak

My microscope with Barlow lens requires the board to be spaced up from the working surface by about 1" minimum, so I added removable feet (threaded stand-offs), this also allows for boards with tall components and also correct focus height for my setup.

+1 for the barlow lens - crucial accessory for electronics.
