Pierce Oscillator Simulation
« on: December 10, 2018, 02:51:38 pm »
Hello all,
I am super new in Analog Design field and I have a lot of problems understanding how things work with Cadence and sometimes with electronics.
I have to simulate the start-up of a Pierce Oscillator with Cadence, but I don`t know what this thing means for the circuit itself.

Thanks!

Cadence? Yuck. I hate that software. I have it installed at work. I used it for a couple of projects, just layout, not simualtion and didn't get on with it. The user interface is very clunky.

For simulation, I've always used LTSpice.

  • It's important to try new things..

..and you may find Clapp/Colpits/Pierce in the LTSpice examples..

It is mandatory to use Virtuoso.

I don`t know what parameters I need to modify in the circuit to have a start-up behavior.
