Resistor Decade Box
« on: July 27, 2011, 08:42:28 pm »
Hello,

Dave mentioned in his last live show that there was some request for a simple DIY resistor decade box.
I made this one my self last year because I needed a decade box fast. It is sadly in hurry made and I had some trouble with my etching so the finish was not the finest though...
But it works perfectly and I have used it several times!
The resistors used is: 0207 smt 1W 1% (big enough for my use)
Have attached the board layout  (Eagle). This board you can copy and paste to build with as many resistor values you like ( 1R, 10R, 1K.... )
I had to etch three pcb`s (two with 3 values and one with 1 value, so I have 1R, 10R, 100R, 1k, 10k, 100k and 1M that goes from 0-9 times (goes to 9 999 999R/10M almost with all switches on 9times)) and connect together to  make my decade box, because I did not have big enough pcb card at that point.

So hope this is some guidance to make your own decade box.
Would be nice if you post your`s under this topic :)
Questions and comments are welcome!
