PC Motherboard power-diagnostics tool
« on: September 25, 2020, 05:41:18 pm »
Hi, recently a friend of mine contected me with a "burnt" motherboard. While i was troubleshooting i got the idea for a device that would measure Current, Voltage and Status signals the PSU gives to the motherboard.

I had some time to kill so i started working.
My design has :
  • Hull Current Sensors
  • Integrated -12V,12V,5V and 3.3V rails for standalone use (without PSU)
  • Power Supervisor
  • AC-DC Converter
  • 2x 18650 Batteries for portable use
  • Integrated BMS

Here is the EasyEDA link: (It is still a Work-in-Progress)

One thing i am having trouble with though, is finding a reasong to build it. I am not sure this device would benefit me in troubleshooting. What do you thing ? And what do you think of the design ?

Thanks
