It's a best seller because of the hacks, if they change it sales will drop a lot because there are other scopes with better value for money on same ish price range....

It's more likely to include same generation on future models than fixing it.

I am not actually a newbie but have been following Dave and eeblog from the start.
My main PC was hacked recently and decided to change all my passwords and somehow ended up a newbie on eevblog
The brainpower on this group is just amazing and I knew that if I could get my post flowing there would be a good chance
that I would get a good result.
Next step is to install a quieter fan.

Congratulations! Glad to hear that the upgrade worked eventually. Could you briefly describe where things went wrong in the initial attempts, so others can watch out for those catches going forward?

Bump... Any chance to get a quick summary of the problem and its resolution? Was it a browser version/refresh problem, a simple oversight in reading or entering the serial number and codes, or some previously unknown issue?

I am just curious, but I think it would also be helpful to have it documented here for future users who run into similar problems. "Unlocking does not seem to work anymore, has Rigol disabled it?" is a question which has recurred multiple times here, and I'm sure it will come up again!

Hi All,

I was having the same problem as the OP (gmt1@internode.on.net)

I tried several of the device option codes that are listed at

http://gotroot.ca/rigol/riglol/ and they all failed as an invalid license.

What did end up working was the option code not listed DSER. Thanks alsetalokin4017!

I appreciate the help!
