Issues regarding TPS63070RNMR buck-boost converter
« on: April 08, 2018, 09:48:25 am »
The IC doesnot work as specified in the datasheet. I even followed the design mentioned in the datasheet.
Issues:
In buck mode when the input voltage exceeds 11.5V the IC heats up rapidly and blows out even at no load, but the according to the datasheet the (Vin : 2-16V /Max input:18V /absolute Max:20V)
In boost mode the output could not even provide 1A of current with input current of 4A. But the datasheet mentions minimum of 3A of input current and max of 4A.
My design requirements where Vin(min):3V Vin(max):16V Iin(min):3A Iout(min):2A
But the datasheet mentions Iout of upto 2A.
I have attached the link below:

Anyone have any solutions???I would be happy to know it.

Can you provide more details of your setup? Inductor, capacitors and possibly the PCB layout in the relevant area. Remember that the inductor must be rated for the current and also be able to store the energy.
