Does the transformer you currently have have two 110V primary windings that can be in series or parallel?

From the label, it looks like is does have two windings.

That transformer as amspire said can be wired for 115v or 230v AC

I'll get a better photo. - Makes sense. So I connect the green from one coil into the red of the other and then treat the two remaining as the 220V primary supply?

Probably. You can check with multimeter to check which pairs belong to which winding. If each winding has a red and green wire, and if currently the two reds and the two greens are shorted, then connect a red from one winding to the green of the other.

But sure the board that that connector plugs into doesn't have provision for selecting the voltage? A switch, or there are links on the board? That is what I would expect.

Also if there is a fuse, you can change to half the current.
