Wall-O-Matic Sonos Interface Project
« on: November 07, 2017, 01:26:04 am »
This is a project I've been working on for several weeks now, and is finally at a stage where I have some good content to share!

The basic idea is to design, build, and program a system that will let me take a Seeburg Wall-O-Matic (stereotypical 1950's diner tabletop jukebox remote) and interface it to my Sonos system. While I'm definitely not the first person to try and build something like this, I decided to use it as an exercise to see what I could accomplish.

The project involved learning about 1950's era electromechanical devices, basic signal filtering, designing schematics and PCBs in KiCad, lots of programming with an ESP8266 (not yet blogged about) and putting it all together.

Building a Seeburg Wall-O-Matic Interface (blog posts):

Hi,

Thanks for sharing this project.
Very detailed - good professional job,  awesome!!

I'm in the middle of Purchase a wallbox 3W1 myself, and want also to connected it with my sonos speakers (Play1, Play 3).

Would it be possible that I can Purchase the PCB board from you?
Only naked board would be OK, components I can find locally and solder myself, but ofcourse an assembled PCB would also be great.
If that is possible, what would be the price of it. (naked/assembled board?)
Shipment should be to Belgium (Europe)

Regards,
Johan

I'm sorry I didn't notice your reply for so long. Unfortunately I don't have any more spare PCBs, but all the necessary data to order one is available.

If you want to order a PCB from OSH Park, the project is shared here: https://oshpark.com/shared_projects/5YB4LtIS

If you want to use some other service, then fetch the KiCad project from the above links and generate the gerber files yourself.
