XLSEMI XL4016 drop in replacement for 4015?
« on: October 07, 2018, 01:25:18 pm »
Can XL4016 be used as drop in replacement for the 4015?

http://www.xlsemi.com/datasheet/xl4015%20datasheet.pdf
http://www.xlsemi.com/datasheet/xl4016%20datasheet.pdf

Seems like same pinout on both.

Yes - as long as you use it with same output conditions.
If those change, you should change some other parts (D1, L1, Cout, R's) accordingly...

The device is rated as 5A output, but for XL4015 that is the MAX, so I want to change it to XL4016. I can change diode if it's 5A to something like 8A too.

There is no way to change the L1 if I don't have a meter to measure what I've got?
Datasheet calls for 47uH 12A??

Would this work https://www.tme.eu/en/details/hci2114-470/smd-power-inductors/ferrocore/

Hi guys please help me understand

well known 4015/4016 boards from ali, will these boards maintain a stable output voltage (5V) if input not stable (voltage floats 11-14V) ?

if no could you advise some chips/boards with this options (desired 4A w/o heat dissipation)

really?

or for ex:
input 14V, I setup output as 5V
but when input falling to 10V I probably get on output 4V?

Yes.

What the input voltage does is not of consequence provided it is within the acceptable input range.
