YOYcart experience
« on: October 17, 2018, 12:50:27 pm »
Anyone have any actual experience with YOYcart.com ? Are they a possible complete scam?
I've been searching for an old machine LCD, and after days only ever found 1 possible from reliable sites. Yet, I find 100s from 4-6 suppliers on
YOYO ??? None of them reply to questions though and their checkout is waay sus. Just looking for actual experience before I do a test run.
Hello <tap> <tap> .. is this thing on?

No takers? Just looking for anyone with any dealings at all. I did a couple test runs, and cancelled after suspect requests -
I can't see how they could be a 100% scam with many 100s+ listings (possibly 1000s). An unregulated ebay clone?

Tks. Saw all those. Just looking for any actual experience. Hard to believe it's a 100% scam for all those listings.

Can you post the LCD part number?
They seem to be scraping some listings from TaoBao. It could be some automated system that re-lists translated items, which would explain why a lot of the description/shiping costs/etc gets screwed up.

In terms of buying from taobao, if the seller has a number of purchases they are legit. A lot of zero purchases its hard to tell if seller is legit or they even have the item (I haven't had any experience with disputes/refunds so can't comment on that). Easiest to buy through an agent (ie basetao, etc.). The seller will ship to them and then re-ship to your country.

There seems to be only 1 legit one on the whole planet, it's a very rare item, but yet YOYcart seem to have 100s ie
https://www.yoycart.com/Product/564015160936/
https://www.yoycart.com/Product/564167097397/
https://www.yoycart.com/Product/569368916240/
etc
If they were scraping other sites listings, I'd be able to find those? History? It seems odd that there are so many hits for a very rare item. Don't get it.

The first link is the same photo as this taobao listing: https://www.superbuy.com/en/page/buy?url=https%3A%2F%2Fitem.taobao.com%2Fitem.htm%3Fid%3D564015160936&nTag=Agent-product-taobao
Third link is this one: https://www.superbuy.com/en/page/buy?url=https%3A%2F%2Fitem.taobao.com%2Fitem.htm%3Fid%3D569368916240&nTag=Agent-product-taobao

So they are either an automated/manual taobao agent.

The first listing could be legitimate, but its almost certainly a pull from used equipment. Since I see a CCFL backlight, that likely is well used and could be dim. The third link may be a new part due to the high cost.
We purchased ~100pc displays from a chinese supplier, and the parts were used pulls (they don't specify new or used, so..). Some were water damaged, many were dim, so its not clear if they tested them at all or just pulled and cleaned them a bit.

Might be worth ordering a few from the first listing if you don't care about it being a used part. Maybe buy through a decent agent (or direct if possible), and let them know you have to test it before you know its good or not.
Compatible parts could exist as well.

Thanks a lot for that. All I can say is - Geezus, what a mess :-)    SO I found this though -
"Caution only people with a Chinese address and bank account can buy from taobao. There are also allot of fake items on there so caution must be used.
For foreigners to buy from taoabo you need to use a middle man that lives in China that can buy for u from taobao. I used http://taoabonow.com "
So I search for an Aussie agent I guess? Price doesn't concern me, and If I lose a couple, no biggie.
At least I have a possible start point .. thanks again

I've been using YoyCart for some time now and it's always been great. Their customer communications are good and it's the cheapest way for me to get small items delivered from TaoBao because they do ship to Canada via airmail whereas TaoBao direct only goes via the more expensive DHL, EMS, UPS and so on. Anything up to about 200 grams packaged weight is best via YoyCart but keep in mind that a small cardboard box can weigh 150 grams, so don't underestimate your shipping weight!

Also, their TaoBao views are automatically generated, so if there are Options Buttons on the TaoBao page then you need to specify these to YoyCart customer service via their chat. If you want heavy or bulky items then YoyCart is NOT going to be a good deal and you should go direct to TaoBao or to some other forwarding agent.

what do you guys think about these listings ?

https://www.yoycart.com/Product/572545444014/
https://www.yoycart.com/Product/529107306192/

I'm looking for Toshiba's obsolete 2SA1924/2SC3425. I'm trying to contact the sellers but to no avail. Also, there are a lot of
sellers on Ali and eBay but their transistors have markings that do not comply with Toshiba's datasheet. For example:

Toshiba datasheet markings:

Alexpress :

These ones do not even have the Toshiba logo, for Pete's sake !

I have never seen Toshiba marking the transistor this way. Just look at it. It's like someone manually printed with silkscreen mesh. Btw, it's the right transistor case (TO-126F).
Dunno, probably fakes. Yes I know the basic rule: do not buy obsolete transistors on Ali and ebay. But those transistors on YOYcart looks genuine.  :-//

Meh, forget about it. Live chat is broken, contact seller is broken, live help is broken, broken English all over the place. Fake website is written all over it.  :palm:

Don't know: https://item.taobao.com/item.htm?abbucket=12&id=668570809767
Maybe legit: https://item.taobao.com/item.htm?abbucket=12&id=571378639095
Probably legit pulls if the image is accurate: https://item.taobao.com/item.htm?abbucket=12&id=601457612759
Bulk: https://octopart.com/2sa1924-toshiba-14313582?r=sp

I would find a modern alternative if you can instead of spending time finding the original.

@thm_w, thank you for your effort. I gave up already. Sellers often show a picture of a genuine transistor but send fakes. It's too risky.

Yes, those look genuine but that same picture is all over the net. 2SA1924/2SC3425 are simply way obsolete. I have to find substitutes.
