My greatest problem with English, by far, is the verb "to be". It can refer to an essential feature attribute of a being, something that cannot be modified without fundamentally changing the being. It can also refer to a transitory, contingent or superficial state the being is currently in.

It's harder the other way around (deciding as an English speaker when to use "ser" versus "estar") :)

That tape has a hole under each component, so every component likely got wet. They're probably useable if reel is put in the oven to dry quickly. I'd take some samples and inspect under microscope to see if there is no corrosion or lead tarnishing, test solderability. Even if apparently fine, I would not use the anywhere in anywhere safety critical or where they just can cause expensive device to fail though.

Sometimes word "capability/es" or "function/s" is better used.

That's how I would interpret the word "feature" in the context of the "SDS800X HD wanted features" thread: It's about suggestions for additional functionality.

Yeah, in that case I think "Funktionen" is definitely much more appropriate than "Merkmale" :)

words stemming from Latin, which is one of the best technical languages.

Or better yet: "Charakteristikum / Charakteristika"

Back in the 1980s I used to get scolded for using too many "foreign words" (Fremdwörter) in my German.  Now I get scolded for avoiding "Anglizismen"  :)

Edit:  after I posted I remembered that "Charaketeristikum" is actually ancient Greek (χαρακτηριστικός‎) via Latin.

Appreciate circuit diagram for the popular Li ion cell charging board using TP4056 and protection chip DW01A.  I need to make a custom board incorporating the circuit since 30mAh cell does not have build-in protector board.  Many thanks

Hi Psi

Thanks for your advice. The part that I'm asking are SOT components from TI with MSL 1

Best regards

You need a resistor connected between the capacitor and the comparator input, weakly pulling this circuit node to some well defined voltage within the valid input range of the chip and draining bias current of the input pin away from there.

Look up "highpass RC filter".

Label says TLV840 TLV840 Nano-Power Ultra-Low Voltage Supervisor with Adjustable Reset Time Delay:  https://www.ti.com/lit/ds/symlink/tlv840.pdf

Yeah, they should be fine after baking them for a few hours

Hello everyone, I have already tried googling for answers with little luck.
I am interested to know what the difference is between the different AmScope trinocular series are? 3,4,5,6,7?
Looking a a trinocular microscope for soldering, not only for attempting SMD but through hole as well whilst maintaining a more upright sitting posture and still have the depth of view from a stero microscope.
Is it possible to place a secure cap where the camera would go? As I was going to purchase a camera at a later date, but wanted to future proof the microscope.
I have already read some other posts on here regarding microscopes so I will try not as too many more already covered questions.
Approaching the 2nd quarter of 2024 have any brands/models come out within the past few months that are worth considering?  I would like to keep the budget for everything, lenses, adapters, stand, trinoculars, etc under $1200 AUD.
I do like the look of the double arm boom stand style.

Anyway thanks in advance.

I did it like this.

> I tried to do it with a cap but somehow the comparator starts to violently oscillate when I assemble the circuit.

It should not. May be you place capacitor in wrong place? Please, provide us a schematic.
