General Technical Chat / Re: EEPROM Marking codes
« Last post by thm_w on Today at 08:31:54 pm »
If it can't be found online, most likely its a custom part number chosen by HP. Since they order mass amounts of these.
What you could do is connect to it with an eeprom programmer and try to detect what IC it is. Some have that functionality. Or map out the pinout and choose a similar part that matches up, then up the size until you start seeing the data loop and repeat.

I don't know if this is relevant: https://h30434.www3.hp.com/psg/attachments/psg/Printing/2868898/1/111reset.pdf

Test Equipment / Re: Siglent SDL1000X/SDL1000X-E Electronic Load
« Last post by tautech on Today at 08:29:24 pm »

EasySDL has a reported problem of the time axis, with the time stamp being half of the real time.

Thank you Mortymore  :-+

Do you have EasySDL_V9.2 installed ?
https://int.siglent.com/upload_file/zip/software/DC%20Electronic%20Load/EasySDL_V9.2_EN.zip

I see you had Record engaged, did you set a path for it to be saved to disk, any disk ?
This is a feature I'd love to see fully explored so to be able to graph discharge curves from the recorded data.

Is it Winner-2_descarga_20230813.zip  ?

Test Equipment / Re: Siglent SDS3000X HD and upgraded SDS1000X HD
« Last post by Martin72 on Today at 08:25:10 pm »
Dave will certainly soon receive a SDS3000 ...

If he has ordered one, he will get one at some point. ;)
The delivery situation is very difficult, as only those who will pay for it are likely to be supplied first.
As it turned out today, I wouldn't have been able to get one either, despite ordering over 3 months ago.
They sent me their own demonstration device by mistake (hence the missing display foil and dust caps), but I can keep it until a new one is actually sent out. 8)
So I can play around a bit, I've already started it after the acclimatization.
The fan is regulated, that's for sure, it makes a clear noise at the beginning when booting, then it gradually gets quieter and quieter - but not as quiet as the SDS2000X HD.
A few things are different from what I'm used to, and the “basic speed” seems faster to me.
But I'll find out more about that in the days to come, with the report here, of course.

Today, I received my  Keithley 617 with very good condition. it was made in 1991 or 1992, and last cal time is 1999. when I power on it, on current and 2pA mode, no input, the read is change from 20 counts to 300. Now, I have work to do. ;D. maybe need clean the pcb first and change the capacitors .

Maybe just place a short on the input and watch it again.
Some charge can caused this,

Test Equipment / Re: Enabling options for R&S test equipment
« Last post by Ennio on Today at 08:20:24 pm »
Hi, I have an R&S ETC and I would like to know how to find out the key to unlock the K140 option for DVBT-2 with the hardware already installed, how can I do it since it can no longer be purchased? Thank you.

PCB/EDA/CAD / Re: JLCPCB alters soldermask without any notice
« Last post by thm_w on Today at 08:19:48 pm »
Sharp pointed or crown tip pogo pins shouldn't require cleaning of the board. But interesting info regardless.

Appreciate advises on a 'practically smallest' connector on custom made PCB. For connection to ST-Link debugger 10 pins.  Seem FPC is nice (flex printed circuit board as in Raspberry Pi camera) with a flip tab so FPC cable can be inserted with zero force and last for tens of insert/uninsert cycles.  What are the going-to pitch that is easily available, 1mm or 0.5mm or others?  Many thanks

Projects, Designs, and Technical Stuff / Re: Creating A Track Resistor
« Last post by PCB.Wiz on Today at 08:07:57 pm »
The trace was to operate from -40 to 70 degC but I have no idea as to the Mass it was being attached to.

Did you get a working solution to your December post problem above ?
15 seconds with a trace calculator finds that a 3mm trace, even 10,000mm long is 1.62 ohms,
ie you have blown your PCB area budget, while still well short of your resistance budget.
240W into a board that small, will rocket past 70'C very quickly.
