I have some Concentrating PhotoVoltaic experimental bits and pieces.
some bits are for a smaller test unit 600mm square lens (see photo below)
other bits are for much larger test units with a 1200mm diameter fresnel lens with ~ 1m focal length.
They focus about a kW of sunlight down to about a 20mm spot, so quite easy to set fire to the test equipment, your lawn, shoes, socks, cables, - whatever gets in the beam.
When tracking properly with the right PV cells, you can get about 160W at 10v, although the heatsink requires water cooling.
These would suit a serious mad-scientist experimenter.
