Linking IFLscience is like linking the Daily Fail. Heck I'd rather you cite a conversation you had with a man down the pub instead of IFLscience.

Phosphorescent materials are incredibly low brightness compared to any other light source. If you've ever cycled through a field at night you'd know that this "invention" is basically pointless. Illuminating obstacles in front of you is more important that very slightly improving the visibility of the path you are cycling along.

In addition, I'd like to see how weather resistant their materials are. I'd venture to say "not very".

Additional questions not addressed include how much it costs and how long it will last in outdoor weather.
The metro area where I live has probably spend $100Ks in green paint to make wide swaths of roads "bicycle zones".
I have not heard of any reduction in bicycle casualties as a result.
And it looks like they will need to come back every 2-3 years and re-paint them as the sold areas are wearing badly.
