Title: Tesla Powerwall In australia
Post by: EEVblog on September 20, 2015, 09:53:30 am
Looks like we'll get it this year!

Anyone got any contact at whoever is running this in Oz?
I'd love to try and get one of the first units in the country...

You probably will have to ask Vincent, he might even be able to send you some of the blank PCB's ( if his boss allows) in a picture frame for your wall as well.

I'm now one step closer to going completely off grid, yesterday I planted a lemon tree.

Why not Germany? Do our poor FIT make power wall better value?

:-DD
Might be much cheaper and clean to get a lot of free energy from the sun at thermal solar than loose in conversion to battery packs like tesla wall, etc.
I invested in my a few kW CSP and I believe it will cost small percentage thatn this:

It can also allow users to utilise their own stored power at night, rather than losing out with the current electricity rates and feed-in-tariff system.

Yep, do not loose out with the current electricity rates, but loose $es to Tesla  :blah:

Anyway, I will run soon my few kW flywheel energy storage system  and... it will be winner for me
I need more and more high power multi phase synchronous rectifier drivers and I will manufacture soon them - not in China ... at home in Europe  :)

BTW: What is estimated cost of this 7kW tesla wall and how long time it can keep at least 5kW with baterries degraded in time-just to estimate ROI?

Down the bottom is a video of the Powerwall being installed.

Probably because the so called "net energy metering". So if you generate 1KWh during the day and use 1KWh at night, you dont pay anything. Unlike 'stralia. So powerwall is pointless. In some countries, feeding back pays more* than consuming so storing energy makes no sense. Of course, this will break the entire power ecosystem on the long term.
