Agilent ESG (4433B) component ID
« on: January 13, 2017, 02:13:25 am »
Hello All,

I acquired an E4433B knowing that it would be an easy fix with a shorted SHF0189 in the output stage.

Sure enough there was a dead unit before the filters, that upon replacement allowed correct output.

The odd part is, this ESG was reworked in 2002 by Agilent where the final amplifier was changed.   It has the characteristic coloured dots, so I assume it was Agilent.   Poorly soldered mind you!

The (H1) SHF0189 was failed - Red dots.
The (M11X) was working - Blue dot.

Does anyone know the identity of the M11X?

Hi I know this topic's been out there for a long time, but I'll take a guess.

Is anybody able to tell me what are the cap and resistor value on the H1 red dot amplifier that are doing some sort of counter reaction feedback ? I have a problem with a unit that has the M11X blue dot (which I'm unable to figure out what is that part the datasheet etc.) and I want to replace that defective one with SHF-0189 that I have in hand in order to repair this unit.

Thanks for your time,
