Hello,

I'm trying to repair a Anker usb car charger.  From what I have check so far, the fuse has blow.  I try to figure out what is the correct spec to buy a new one but I'm lost...

Model of the charger: Anker 24W 2-Port Turbo USB car Charger (71an2452CS)
Input rating: 12-24V
Output: 5.0V, 4,8A

The fuse is a white surface mount and have only a "V" on it.  You can see it in the picture.

Any way I can possibly identify it ?  I'm tinking about contacting Anker...

Thanks!

I'm answering my own question ;)

Apparently they seems to have no easy way to find back what was the value of a surface mount fuse from what I have read and it make sens...

Let's try with the manufacturer...

Look on the outside of the device, it should tell you the max current the device consumes. if its a 24W charger and its 90% efficient lets say it consumes 27W on average and the V*I on the label gives 35W find a fuse that can handle fast peaks for the 35 and a small margin for the 27W.

Or play it safe with a fuse to supply 24W of power and see if it works. Fuses normally blow for a reason so you might replace it and it could immeaditely blow again. You'd need to find the cause and fix it.

Could be 6.3A;
Just measure the size whether its a 1206 device.

Update:

Of course Anker did not want to give me the information...They strongly suggest me to stop trying to repair it for safety...  ;)

But they answer really fast and even send a new unit.
