Can you help me identify this transistor?

Hi I found this part in an old Portland tv.  Can anyone tell me what it is?  I tried google and only this picture showed up, no information.
I would like to find a replacement but dont know were to start.  The package is not important.  I think it may be a voltage regulator or some kind of a diode.  Just not sure.

States that it can be replaced with STR382, which is 125V, 20W voltage regulator
