Choosing capacitors
« on: February 04, 2016, 04:53:01 am »
I'm repairing a power supply that uses several mallory axial caps. 2 of the smaller valued ones I have replaced already. For fun I started looking at replacement options. Radial gives me the most choices, So I will be bodging them in.
Current caps are 40v operating at 38v(They cut this really close), and are 85C rated.
New caps will be in the 2700uF(or higher) range, @ 105C.
2 popular choices in style(good brands will be used).
50v @ 5000-10000Hr,
63v@2Khrs.
Note going for cheap options, using Mouser. Already have a bunch of stuff in the cart.
If you own any North Hills Electronics gear, message me. L&N Fan
