Corsair H60 Hall Effect Sensor Repair
« on: August 12, 2017, 01:36:05 am »
I ended up getting this Corsair H60 second hand and it wasn't working. I tracked it down to a broken leg on the Hall Effect sensor. I am fairly new to the electronics repair scene and have basic to moderate knowledge. I am having trouble tracking down this sensor so I can get a new one. The first picture is the broken off sensor. The "nipple" side was sticking out the top of the board. The second is the board. Any help to try to identify the package type or part number would be awesome. I tried looking around on Mouser but didn't see anything close.

On another note, I doubt there is a way but could there be a way to bypass the sensor? I highly doubt you can from what I have learned thus far. I'm guessing the controller is looking for some sort of input to know how to control the speed.

Thank you for any help you guys can give.

Grab an old FDD drive, there are 3 of those on the motor drive board that likely would solder in directly and work there.
