Coupla 12V Power Supply Repair Questions
« on: December 01, 2017, 11:26:07 am »
Hi,

I'm repairing a 12v power supply.
Looks like a transistor shorted made a capacitor go open circuit and killed one diode in the bridge rectifier.

Anyone know a replacement for the 2SK3115?

They are a little pricey on ebay and quality is unknown so I ordered a STP6NK60ZFP as a replacement.

Also, some glue used to hold in components looks rather cooked. If I measure across it with a multimeter I get about 120k ohms. That's not good is it? This is in the vicinity of the blown transistor. I will scrape it off.

Cheers
Martin

The STP6NK60ZFP seems to work as a replacement for the 2SK3115. I also needed a new UC3842AN a 68uf capacitor and a 1N4728A.
