DSO-X 2002A booting problem
« on: August 17, 2017, 05:36:20 pm »
I have a Agilent Scope Model - DSO-X 2002A
When I turning it on, the scope does not boot up.
After pressing the power switch, the following key lights on (in the same order) and stay at this position.

Light up yellow Ref  key arrow
Light up yellow Math  key arrow
Light up yellow Digital  key arrow
Light up yellow Serial  key arrow

I attached a snapshot of the problem.

Please give me a solution.
Thanks.

Hello,
I am troubleshooting a DSO-X 2012A with a similar symptomps. My patient stops at "Digital" LED. There is a "Agilent InfiniiVision 2000/3000 X-Series Oscilloscopes Service Guide". It is very basic in troubleshooting and only provides a flowchart to identify a defective unit. In my case it is the main board (who would have guessed?) and suggested solution is to replace it. No information of what is happening inside it.

What I did find with this guide is that all voltages except VP23V (display backlight) are within spec. I also found that the boost IC (3064B) is disabled. It corresponds to what we see in this video:
Display is back-lit later after the self-test which halts in both your and mine scopes.

I think it has the NAND corruption problem and it is serviced for free if you ship it to Keysight, even when it is out of warranty (contact your Keysight service center to verify).
