01005 resistor kits
« on: December 16, 2016, 12:38:52 pm »
Anyone got any sources for 01005 resistor & capacitor kits please? I can find them on RS but
there's an 11 week lead time on them.

Thank you

01005 for manual assembly/prototyping ? i think you must be kidding ;) at least i wouldn't go to anything below 0402 for manual work. i hate even the 0402 but was forced to go for such small decoupling caps in my latest project.

I use them for iPhone repair and getting a bit fed up with wasting time buying donor boards to remove them from.. A kit or two would be far quicker.

then i would just buy the values present on the boards..it won't be too many values - BOMs are always optimized for the least different components possible.
however those 01005 resistors are pretty expensive compared to the standard stuff... and for example farnell doesn't even stock them in europe and you have to pay the 25$ fee for shipping from US.

It would be great if say the different iPhone models used perhaps only a few component values between them, but they differ quite a lot over the 9 models
they have. On the iPhone 6 alone there are 16 different resistor values.

I think due to the prices of the 01005 style components donor boards are going to be on the cards for some time yet :(

Thanks anyway though ;)
