Hi all,
I have just found my old faulty MacBook Air, from the bottom of a drawer. I thought I would give it a go on fixing it.
The problem is that the computer wont accept the charger, if the internal battery is connected. I can confirm that the battery isn't faulty, as it is working in another computer.
If I open the computer and disconnect the battery, the computer accepts the charger and powers on.
I have also noticed, that when the charger is disconnected and the battery is connected, I can roughly measure the battery voltage on the external charging connector.
Here is what I think is the fault (please see this schematic, page 50, on the top).
https://eevblog.jalling.net/820-2796.pdfIf I measures Q7080, it is shorted between drain and source. D-S on Q7085 measures ~5MOhm.
Should I just replace Q7080 or is there anything else I should look for?
Thanks,
bR Jonas
