Find datasheet for a SMD code

The attached picture is from a Li-Ion battery charger that came with a fake "Sony" video camera. Being a fake camera, I suspect the charger might not be very safe. I would like to use it as a generic charger for other Li-Ion batteries, so I took a look inside. The charger is powered by a 5V generic wall adapter, and the Red and Black wires are going to the battery. Floating voltage is 4.15V. A Red/Green LED lights Red when charging and green when battery voltage is 4.15V (or no battery connected).

I am NOT interested in Li-Ion charging or safety advice here, the question is all about identifying SMD datasheets.

1. The case is about 3mm wide (maybe a SOT-23-5), but what IC is in the picture? I need its datasheet.
2. How do you find datasheets for SMD parts in general? Most of the time google doesn't help very much.
3. Any good links for SMD identifying?

If you enter 016i sot23-5 into google you find many links to SE9016 battery charger. The pinout seems so match the layout on the pcb.
Using only the marking code google rarely finds the datasheet. But Marking code + package or marking code + function (like battery charger, diode, voltage reference) often leads to the correct datasheet.
