Fluke 89IV no continuity beep
« on: February 02, 2016, 02:54:14 pm »
Picked up a used fluke 89IV and it seems to work except there is no continuity beep and the sound symbol on the display seems to be flickering very quickly.
Could the SMT-12 transducer be bad.  I'll have to check it when I get home tonight to see if there is any signal at the speaker.

Video of the flicker, tough to see on the video

Check the setup menu and make sure beep is turned on.  The slightly flickering beep annunciator is normal.

Thank you, there was a setting for YES/NO for beep.  It now beeps, funny they show the sound icon if it's disabled.
