I got a fellows Saturn 95 laminator (seems to be in the 100 range new and working) for 6 bucks. Kind of cool has a 3 mill and 6 mill option on top. Seems to suck my radioshack clads right through, and there is even a lever to stop the thing and apply pressure.
When I first got it I thought it worked, turns out the stand by light never goes off! I took half a** apart and found the thing was producing no heat. From what I understand the heating elements are in the rollers themselves. I was wondering if this is a fixable problem, I know laminators are super cheap but Im not at a point where I want to throw 30 bucks down on something that doesnt live up to my hope.
I have plenty of nichrome and kanthal from vaping, toasters, dyres etc etc. If there anyway to get the heating elements going again or is this one of the those SOL problems since the elements are part of the rollers? maybe there is some diy super roller projects out there:
