Hakko 700 Solder/Desolder Station

Having finally located replacement Hakko Gun for my old 700 station, i just noticed something whilst giving the insides a check over.
Front earth terminal is grounded to chassis (although paint was under star washer!) now fixed, and earth to AC plug  ok.
But, BOTH soldering iron & de soldering gun tips are earthed via 200k ohm resistor with small cap across it?
Have checked 700, 700B & 700C circuits, which all show tips wired to common earth.
This mod was factory fitted since new.
Just wondering if anyone else out there with one of these units can verify this.

The 800L gun seems to be non existinat these days.

Do you know of any desolder guns that fit the 700C other than the 800L gun?
