Help Identify SMD Resistors
« on: January 31, 2016, 12:50:31 pm »
Please can you help me identify the components in the images.  I believe they form part of a current sense circuit.  These are pictures of working devices, the ones I need to change are blackened from having been on a high current path.

The first photo shows a 22uf 35v tantalum capacitor.
The other a 2.2 ohm resistor.

Guide on identifying the package code used, you'll need a ruler.

Thank you very much.

#1

226 being 22x10^6 picofarads?
35 being 35V.

What does the K or the 107 represent?

#2

Ah.... OK 2R2... = 2.2Ohms
I assume Dale is the manufacturer
What does the 0046 represent?

Thanks again

For the capacitor, K would be the tolerance.

J is +/- 5%
K is +/- 10%
M is +/- 20%

I imagine the other numbers on both will be manufacturer codes, batch, date of manufacture or something like that and yes, sale would be the manufacturer of that resistor.

In low value resistors the substitute the decimal place with R so it is harder to miss. If it said 2.2 but the . Didn't print, or you didn't look close enough you would think it is 22 ohm (or possibly 2 with a multiplier of 2 zeros). The R is a lot harder to miss.

Some of the shunt resistors on the gear I work with are marked R001 (1 milliohm)

Hope this helps.

Could #2 actually be an inductor?   2.2uH ?

(If so the subject name is a bit misleading  :-DD)
