HP 53132A fan replacement
« on: March 06, 2018, 08:04:42 pm »
Found some old threads on this subject, rather than resurrecting Ill start a new one.  Picked up a 53132A from eBay, included factory installed options 010 and 030 and was a later serial number (for HP branding at least).  The eBay photos looked a bit rough, it was not clear if the display was week or if it was just washed out by the flash.  The case was re-painted and a bit rough but the price was right IF it was in working order and the OEM options where installed.

I lucked out and the display was in very good shape, nice and bright with a blueish tint.  The meter cleaned out well but the re-painted case is a bit of an eye sore yet.  Found it did indeed included the OEM options 010 and 030 and everything seems to work well, except for a noisy fan.  Not just normal fan noise, its rough and sounds like a bearing is failing.   Replaced with a Sunon 5.5 CFM 12.8 dbA fan, much better.
