HP PS-3701-1 failure
« on: June 28, 2016, 10:39:16 pm »
Hi everyone! So a few months ago i picked two power supply's (HP PS-3701-1) from the junk yard for a really great deal and they work amazing! One i left as is, but the other i soldered some wires to the output pins, just to have a better way to connect something to it. After that, the PS started to have iregular voltages, like as i terned it on, i would go to 4v, 6v, than 12v, as before it went right to 12v. After some time it stopped to work at all. When i plug it in it goes right to 12V and the to Ov. I think the overcurrent protection circuit is being activated but i dont know why. After this i desoldered the wires but it is still the same thing, goes normal as i plug in and then to OV, while the 5v channel work fine. Also i cant find any schematics online for this PS. Any ideas on what is goin on and what can i do?

Thanks!
