Is there any way to fix a shorted arduino?
I shorted the GND and 5V pin together by accident GRRRR |O |O |O |O |O |O |O :-[ :( :-[ :-[ :( :(

What Arduino is it?
Have you checked for holes in any of the components?

The on-board regulator can be replaced or the whole micro if you got the tools. Unless it is a really expensive one, it might be beyond economical repair (BER).

That shouldn't actually break any decent voltage regulator. Post pics, schematic and more details if you want detailed info. But as above unless you fancy the challenge of the repair the best route may be to buy new.

Have you tried it again after it cooled down? If regulator shot, it can also be powered externally with 5V.

I've done exactly that by accident and all it did was burn a trace, which you just fix with a bodge wire...
