There's a transistor looks like it's blown near where the battery jumpers go into the board. I suspect that's a good starting place. I can't make out any component markings
No FXXX marked on the board to indicate fuse.
No voltage measured at LCD terms, so it's probably not just a dead display.
Scuffing on the cap between 4mm ports in the way of one of the PCB mounting screws indicates someone has been in this and not removed the 4mm terms before doing so to gain better access to the screws. I wonder if they took out the screw while the DUT was energised and blew the board.
While I'm getting light and some glass ordered so I can see in the bloody thing does anyone have a service manual or schematic?
