ISO-TECH 3610 PSU repair service manual needed badly
« on: March 31, 2016, 07:44:52 pm »
Hi! I've got a cool DC Power Supply unit model ISO-TECH IPS3610D RS STOCK NO. 357-0776 (36v, 10amp) which has developed a problem.

The PSU switches ON but has stopped giving any DC V/A output.
I sent to a local repair shop but they need a Circuit Diagram.

I tried to obtain the Circuit Diagram from RS Components but they did not help.

PLEASE HELP me with a link to the requested file or attach the file to your reply.
Anxiously waiting for help as I like this PSU very much and wish to use it again.

PS: I've searched the internet as much as I know but have not found the Repair/Service Manual with Circuit Diagram for ISO-TECH IPS3610D (My PSU is uncalibrated - as same model is also available UKAS or RSCAL calibrated)

There's like a million clones of that PSU (Hint: ISO-TECH isn't the originator of this PSU)

It seems to go by the model 3005D commonly though.

Schematics that may or not be accurated for your PSU:

The plan for these cheap supplies is usually not that complicated. They are also most of the time using very similar circuits. So it should not be to difficult to get a plan by reverse engineering.

The typical parts to check are fuses (if there) and the output transistors. Some defects are also visible (e.g. burnt resistors, lose cables).

Hello elektro-hobbiest, I have the same problem with my 3610D. Turns on fine, LED's work, fan spins, displays are on but sometimes I get no output from it at all. Other times it works fine.

I've noticed that the PCB is bent inside my unit, is yours bent? As comented here in this thread, it uses pretty standart ICs to work, current mode PWM controllers. First place to check is those as that is basically the brains of it.

I can never get mine to fail when i'm trying to fix it, so for now I'm checking solder joints of the components.

If you do find a schematic please post it  :-+ If I find something about this unit I will post back  ;)

Sorry for reviving this. It may not be relevant anymore for OP, but I am posting this anyway, since it may at least be of use to somebody else  ;)

Service manual for GW Instek SPS series power supplies here:
https://mega.nz/file/mDR0wCxT#iOYag2PROMGj95gmtnkCVdistbIQ6DkdydBdT9XSTjQ
Covers SPS-1230, SPS-1820, SPS-2415, SPS-3610, and SPS-606

I believe the iso-tech ones are just clones of the GW so the service manual may or may not apply to those as well, please be aware of this.
At least I will be attempting to repair my iso-tech IPS-606D with this information.

Edit:
I realize that the service manual is missing the schematic for the main board of this PSU - however I found an article in Russian, describing repair of the SPS-606 with some interesting details, and more schematics:

A google translated version is available in PDF here:
